Happy 4th of July!

We kicked off the 4th a week early and set off a few fireworks in our driveway. It took Kate a while to get used to the sparklers, but once she did she loved it!

Jesse had the fun job!

We went to Huntington for Heritage Days. Jesse had a float in the parade and Katelyn got to ride in the back and "throw" candy with her cousin Logan.

Jada's first parade!

Jesse had a booth after the parade. I didn't get any pictures of it, but I did get one of Kate playing in a bunch of balloons!

Kate is such a good big sister. When we first brought Jada home, Kate was a little overwhelmed but the last few days she's getting used to it. She loves to hold Jada and she kisses on her every chance she gets.

Proud Grandparents

Need I say more?

Oh Baby!

I was scheduled to be induced on June 9th (my due date), but the night before I started to have contractions. We went to the hospital at 5:30 am and at 10:04 our little Jada Ann was born! She weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and was 19" long. I was very impatient the last week of being pregnant, but Jada wanted to wait until the 9th to come because it was Grandma Shirley's birthday!

Katelyn woke up this morning at about 6:00, but she didn't come downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought her. She just wanted to read books upstairs. Finally at 7:00 I convinced her to come down, but then she only wanted to eat the candy out of the eggs that were scattered around the floor. She didn't care too much for her Easter basket. Oh well, there's always next year, right?

Baby Animal Days

After our big Easter egg hunt, we went to Baby Animal Days at Heritage Farm. Kate loves animals so much so for her this was as good as Disneyland. She got to ride a pony, hold baby chicks and bunnies, pet baby goats, pigs, calfs, and just run around like a crazy girl. They also had oxen, I'm pretty sure they weren't babies because they were HUGE!

The Big Hunt

Yesterday we took Katelyn to K-mart for an Easter egg hunt. She had a blast! We took a plastic bag for Kate to put her eggs in and Jesse said that it was the most "red-neck bag" but it did the job and I didn't want her eggs to fall out of the basket. After the hunt was over she insisted that we keep looking for more eggs, so we had to wander around the store a little longer than we wanted.

They also had the Easter Bunny at K-mart so we had to go find him. He was a little scarier looking than we were expecting but Kate did great. She didn't even cry (I probably would have).

On our way home, we looked in the back at Kate and she had already dipped into her candy. Her face was covered in chocolate!
